Question 11:

Which is better Robots.txt or Meta Robots Tag?

Robot.txt file is generally used to disallow page to be indexed by search engine whereas, if you use meta robot tags, you can declare "noindex, follow" which specify that don't index the page but crawl other links on the page. Using "noindex" automatically remove your URL's/page from search engine records whereas if you are using Robot.txt file then to remove URL from search engine you have to use Webmaster URL Removal Tool.

From SEO point of view, which is better - one domain site or several smaller subdomain site?

It is very important to understand what your website is all about - niche.

If you are writing on a single niche, it is better to have single website as higher the number of pages, high will be your ranking. 

whereas,

If you are writing on various niche, you can have multiple sites which will be easy to manage individually.

What is Keyword proximity?

Keyword proximity refers to the distance between the search term's individual keywords. For example: Two websites A and B contains keywords that make up a search term as "Java Questions" and site A has title as "Java Interview Questions" and site B has title "Important Java Questions" then the proximity of site B is higher as compared to site A as there is no distance/words between the search term  and the title of site B where as in site  A there is one word distance between the search term in title tag.

Difference between exit rate and bounce rate.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors that visit a page on your website and don’t visit any other pages. For example If someone visit to a page via a search engine and then go to another site without visiting any of your other pages.

Exit Rate is the percentage of people who have left the page but would have previously visited other pages. The figure is worked out by the percentage of visitors that leave your website from a page based on the number of visits to that page.

Do all search bot engines follow robot.txt instruction?

Robots, especially malware robots that scan the web for security vulnerabilities, and email address harvesters used by spammers may not crawl according to robots.txt file and can ignore your robots.txt.
